Import items from a spreadsheet

Bring your whole item list in at once from a CSV file, with a preview before anything is saved.

Updated

If you already have your items in Excel or your old software, you can bring them in all at once instead of typing them one by one.

Import your items

  1. On the Items screen, click Import.
  2. Click Download template and save the CSV file. Fill it in — or export your item list from your old software as a CSV.
  3. Click Choose CSV file and pick your file.
  4. Yojika shows a preview before saving anything:
    • X ready — rows that will be added.
    • already exist (skipped) — items already in your catalogue.
    • with errors (skipped) — rows Yojika could not read, with the reason shown. Fix these in your file and import again.
  5. Click Import to add the ready rows.

Nothing is saved until you click Import, and only valid rows are brought in.

Good to know

  • GST rate: if your file has no GST-rate column, every item comes in at 0% GST and Yojika asks you to confirm first. You can edit each item’s GST rate afterwards.
  • Indian-language text: save your file as CSV UTF-8 in Excel so names in Hindi or other Indian scripts come through correctly.
  • Importing does not replace your catalogue — it adds to it, skipping duplicates.
