Expenses

Record shop expenses like rent, electricity and salaries, sort them into categories, and claim input tax credit.

Updated

Record what your shop spends — rent, electricity, salaries, and more — so you can see where your money goes.

The Expenses screen shows one month at a time. Use the arrows to move between months. The card near the top shows Total this month and a chip for each category’s spend.

Add an expense

  1. Click New expense (or press Ctrl+N).
  2. Pick a Category. (Add categories first with Categories if the list is empty.)
  3. Enter the Amount and the Date.
  4. Choose how you paid — Cash, UPI, Card, Bank, Cheque, or Other.
  5. Add Notes if you want.
  6. Click Add expense.

Claim input tax credit (ITC)

If the expense has GST you can claim back:

  1. Turn on Claim Input Tax Credit (ITC). The amount you entered is then treated as GST-inclusive.
  2. Pick the GST rate. Yojika shows the split — the taxable value and the GST inside your amount.
  3. Optionally add the Vendor GSTIN and Bill number for your records.

Expenses with ITC show an ITC tag in the list, and their GST feeds into your GST reports.
