Set a passcode lock

Protect Yojika with a PIN, and require it before deleting or editing bills.

Updated

You can lock Yojika with a passcode (a 4 to 6 digit PIN) so only you can open it. This is under Settings in the Passcode lock card. For what the lock screen looks like when you open the app, see Unlock Yojika with your passcode.

Set a passcode

  1. In Settings, find the Passcode lock card.
  2. Click Set passcode.
  3. Type your new passcode in New passcode.
  4. Type it again in Confirm passcode.
  5. Click Set.

Use 4 to 6 digits. From now on, Yojika asks for this passcode each time you open it.

Require the PIN before deleting or editing

Once a passcode is set, a switch appears: Require PIN to edit or delete saved documents. Turn this on and Yojika asks for your passcode before anyone can delete a saved bill. This is a good extra guard if staff use the same computer.

Change your passcode

  1. In the Passcode lock card, click Change passcode.
  2. Type your Current passcode.
  3. Type the New passcode twice.
  4. Click Change.

Remove your passcode

  1. In the Passcode lock card, click Remove passcode.
  2. Type your Current passcode.
  3. Click Remove.

Yojika will no longer ask for a passcode when it opens.

Important — do not forget it

There is no way to reset a forgotten passcode. If you forget it, the only way back in is to clear the app’s data, which deletes everything on the device. So please:

  • Store your passcode somewhere safe, and
  • Keep regular backups (Backup & restore in Settings), so you can restore your data if you ever have to clear the app.
