The Utilities screen gathers the tools that work on your data as a whole in one place, so you do not have to remember where each one lives. Click Utilities in the sidebar.
Every tool also keeps its original entry point — the Import button on the Items screen, the Recycle bin card under Settings, and the command palette all still work exactly as before. Utilities is an extra way in, not a move.
The tools gathered here include:
- Import Items — bring your catalogue in from a CSV file.
- Import Party — bring your party list in from a CSV file.
- Export Items — save your catalogue as a CSV or Excel file.
- Recycle Bin — restore or permanently remove deleted records.
Export Items
Click the Export Items tile to save your item catalogue as a file.
- The screen tells you how many items will be exported.
- Click Export CSV or Export Excel.
- Pick the folder to save the file in. The file is named like
yojika-items-2026-08-29.csv, using today’s date.
The file carries each item’s name, HSN or SAC code, unit, GST rate, sale and purchase prices, current stock, low-stock level, whether it is a good or a service, and its category — the same columns the Import Items template uses. So you can keep the file as a backup of your catalogue, edit prices in Excel and import it back, or move your catalogue to another computer.
A few things to know:
- The stock written for each item is the stock you have now, not the opening stock you started with.
- Items sitting in the Recycle bin are not included; restore them first if you want them in the file.
- An HSN code that is not 4 to 8 digits cannot be imported back, so it is left blank in the file rather than written in a form the import would reject.
- Compensation cess, secondary units and their conversion, and the tax-inclusive price flag have no column in the import format, so they are not part of the file.
- Cess is the one to watch. An item you export and re-import comes back with no cess. If you sell goods that carry compensation cess — tobacco, aerated drinks, large cars — re-enter it before billing them again, or you will under-charge.
- Barcodes, item photos, batch and serial details, stock at each storage location, custom fields and wholesale prices are left out for the same reason.
