Manage your licence and plan

View your licence, renew it, enter a new key, and use one shop across devices with cloud sync.

Updated

Your licence is what keeps Yojika unlocked. You can see its details, renew it, or enter a new key from the License card in Settings. Cloud sync (for using one shop on several devices) is in the Cloud sync card just below it.

The plans

Yojika licences run for a fixed one-year or three-year term (they do not auto-renew) and you buy them on the yojika.com website:

  • Desktop plan — unlocks Yojika on one Windows computer.
  • Mobile plan — unlocks Yojika on one Android phone.
  • Combo plan — unlocks two devices in total (a computer and a phone, two computers, or two phones), and adds optional cloud sync so your shop stays the same on every device.

Prices and payment are only on the website. The Android app never shows prices — you buy on yojika.com and then enter your key in the app.

See your licence details

The License card shows:

  • Status — such as Active, Free trial, or Expired — in grace.
  • Plan — the plan you are on.
  • Registered to — the email your licence is under.
  • License key — your key.
  • Expires on — the date your licence ends (shown as DD/MM/YYYY).
  • Days remaining (or Trial days left) — how long is left. This turns red when 30 days or fewer remain.

Renew your licence

When your licence is close to running out, a reminder bar appears at the top of the app. To renew:

  1. In the License card, click Renew license (on a computer). This opens the renewal page on yojika.com.
  2. Pay for another term. You get a confirmation email with the new expiry date.

There is no new key. Renewing extends the key you already have, so you do not need to enter anything: the app picks up the new expiry date on its own the next time it checks its licence. If you would rather not wait, click Enter a new license key and type your existing License key and Email — entering the same key again just refreshes it.

After your licence expires there is a short grace period where the app still works, so you have time to renew without stopping billing.

Enter a new key

Bought a paid licence during your trial, or want to refresh the one you have? You do not need to sign out. In the License card, click Enter a new license key, type your License key and Email, and click Activate. A different licence replaces the old one straight away; the same key entered again simply refreshes it.

What happens when you add one device too many

How many devices each plan covers is listed under The plans above. The two Combo slots are not reserved one per type — two computers, two phones, or one of each all count the same against the limit.

When you activate one device more than your plan covers, Yojika releases a slot automatically and gives it to the new device. The one it releases is the device that has gone longest without checking its licence — each device checks about once a week while the app is open and the device is online, and entering the key counts as a check too. So it is normally the device you have gone longest without using that goes. A device that has not checked since its key was entered counts from the day you entered the key.

So the device left idle is the one that goes. On a Combo licence your computer and your phone both fit, and nothing is released. It is the third device that forces a choice: activate a second phone, and Yojika releases whichever of the other two has gone longest without checking its licence. A counter computer you have billed on every day keeps its slot; the phone whose key you typed last month and then left in a drawer is the one released — even though its key is the newer of the two.

One thing to watch: a device only checks its licence when it is online. A computer kept permanently offline cannot check, so it counts as idle however much you bill on it, and another device can take its slot. It keeps working offline, but the day it does go online it asks for the key again. Which device is released is decided by comparing them, so there is no date to watch. Before you activate a new device, bring the one you want to keep online and open Yojika on it. To be certain, enter its licence key again on that device: a key entry always counts as a check, so it becomes the most recently checked of your devices and one of the others goes instead.

The released device stops working the next time it checks its licence — at its next start if Cloud Sync is on, otherwise within about a week. A device that stays offline is not signed out. When it does check, it asks for a key again, and you activate it as normal.

On a paid one-device plan this is simply how you move your licence: enter the same key on the new computer, and the old one is released. A free trial cannot be moved — it stays locked to the first device you started it on, and activating it elsewhere is refused. See Activate with a licence key.

Cloud sync (Combo plan)

The Cloud sync card lets a Combo-plan shop keep the same data on all its devices — bill on your computer, and it shows on your phone too.

  • Cloud sync is optional and off until you turn it on.
  • With sync off, your data stays only on each device.
  • To switch it on, click Enable sync and sign in with your email. Once on, the button becomes Manage sync, and Sync status shows whether everything is up to date.

If your Combo licence lapses, sync pauses; it starts again on its own once you renew.
