Cash & bank accounts

Track cash in hand and bank accounts, see live balances, add a bank, adjust a balance, and transfer money.

Updated

The Cash & Bank screen shows every place you keep money. Yojika starts with one Cash account for cash in hand; you add your bank accounts.

At the top, two cards show your totals: Cash in hand and Total bank balance. Below them, each account is listed with its own live balance. Balances update on their own as you record payments, transfers, and adjustments — you never type a balance directly.

Add a bank account

  1. On Cash & Bank, click Add bank.
  2. Enter a Display name (required) — for example “HDFC Current”.
  3. Optionally add the Bank name, A/c no. last 4, IFSC, and UPI ID.
  4. Enter an Opening balance if the account already has money in it.
  5. Click Save.

Open an account

Click any account to see its Current balance and its list of transactions — payments received and paid, transfers in and out, and adjustments. Each row shows the date and amount. From the top of this screen you can open the Statement, Adjust balance, or Edit the account.

Adjust a balance

Use this to correct a balance without a bill behind it — for example, cash you took out for personal use.

  1. On the account, choose Adjust balance.
  2. Choose Add (money in) or Reduce (money out).
  3. Enter the Amount, a Reason, and the Date.
  4. Click Save.

Transfer money between accounts

Move money from cash to a bank, or between two banks.

  1. On Cash & Bank, click Transfer (you need at least two accounts).
  2. Choose the From and To accounts.
  3. Enter the Amount, an optional Note, and the Date.
  4. Click Transfer.

The money leaves one account and lands in the other in a single step, so it is never counted twice.

Delete an account

Open the menu on an account and choose Delete. If the account still holds a balance, Yojika warns you first. Its past transactions are always kept. The default Cash account cannot be deleted.
