Every item has a base unit — the smallest unit you count it in, such as pcs, kg or ltr. Many shops also buy or sell in a larger unit, like a box or a dozen. Yojika lets you bill in either, while keeping stock in the base unit.
Set the base unit
When you add or edit an item, pick the Unit from the list. Common Indian retail units are included: pcs, kg, g, ltr, ml, box, dozen, packet, bag, bundle, strip, mtr, set, pair, carton, case, roll and tin. If you imported an item with a different unit, that unit is kept too.
Add a secondary (larger) unit
- Open the item.
- Choose a Secondary unit (optional) — for example box.
- In Conversion, enter how many base units make one secondary unit. The helper text shows exactly what to fill in, for example 1 box = ? pcs. If a box holds 12 pieces, enter 12.
- Save.
Now you can bill this item in either pcs or box, and Yojika converts automatically. Your stock and reports always stay in the base unit.
Rules to remember
- The secondary unit must be different from the base unit.
- A secondary unit needs a conversion greater than zero — Yojika reminds you if it is missing.
You can also enter stock in the secondary unit when you adjust stock: pick the unit next to the quantity, and Yojika converts it back to the base unit for you.
