Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: 11 July 2026
This page explains how to delete your Yojika account and license, how to remove the business data you keep in the App, and what happens to any information we hold after you ask us to delete it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
1. Where your data actually lives
Yojika is offline-first, so it matters where each kind of data sits before you delete anything:
- Your business data — on your PC only. Every invoice, party (customer/vendor), item, stock movement and payment you record is stored in a local database on your own Windows computer, plus any backups you have saved to a folder or drive you chose. We cannot see it and it is never on our servers — unless you turned on the optional Cloud Sync feature (see section 4).
- Your account & license — in our cloud. We hold a small record tied to your email: your name, email and phone number; your license key, plan and validity dates; the device activation(s) bound to your license (identified by a non-reversible device fingerprint); and your payment records from buying a license (a payment reference, amount and status from our payment provider, Razorpay — never your card number or UPI PIN).
Deleting your account means deleting these two things in the two places they live. The sections below cover each.
2. Deleting your business data (on your device)
Because this data is entirely on your computer, you are always in control of it and do not need us to remove it:
- Delete individual records inside the App as normal (invoices, parties, items and so on).
- Remove everything by uninstalling Yojika from Windows and deleting its local database file and any backup files you created (in the backup folder or drive you selected). Once removed, that data is gone from your machine and cannot be recovered by us — we never had a copy.
Keep a backup first if you might still need your records for GST returns or your own accounts — deletion on your device is permanent.
3. Deleting your account & license (with us)
To delete the account, license and payment information we hold, email [email protected] from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account" and, if you have it, your license key. Sending from your registered address lets us verify the request is really yours.
When we process your request, we:
- delete your customer record (name, email, phone) and release/delete your device activation(s);
- revoke and delete your license key, so it can no longer be activated;
- delete your payment records except where Indian tax and accounting law requires us to retain certain transaction records for a statutory period — those are kept only as long as the law requires and then deleted, and are not used for anything else.
We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within a few business days and to complete them promptly. Deleting your account with us does not touch the data on your own PC — remove that separately (section 2). Note that deleting your license means any remaining paid time is forfeited; please review our Refund & Cancellation Policy first.
4. If you ever turned on Cloud Sync
Cloud Sync is optional and off by default. If — and only if — you enabled it, a copy of your business data was stored in our cloud to keep your own devices in step. You can remove that copy at any time:
- In the App: go to Settings and turn Cloud Sync off. You will be asked what to do with the cloud copy — choose "delete now" to purge your shop's synced rows from our servers immediately. (If you don't, the copy is kept for a short grace period and then purged automatically.) Your local data on your device is untouched and remains your source of truth.
- By email: you can also ask us to erase any Cloud Sync data by writing to [email protected].
